With nearly 800,000 acres of mystical beauty, Joshua Tree National Park is one of the world’s most incredible natural desert treasures. Sweeping granite monoliths and voluptuous boulder formations populate the desert floor to form this an incredibly serene landscape, conducive to meditation, discovery, and exploration.

The Bungalows are 40 miles from the Palm Springs Airport and a few miles from The Joshua Tree Village and the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park. Our location provides convenient access to other High Desert destinations such as Yucca Valley, Pioneertown (9 miles), The Integratron (13 miles) and 29 Palms(17 miles).

Retreat Center

The Joshua Tree Retreat Center is one of the cultural centerpieces of the High Desert community.

The Mentalphysics Spiritual Teaching and Retreat Center was dedicated in 1941 in Joshua Tree. Established in 1941, it offers instruction in eastern philosophies adapted for Western audiences, focusing on Prana, breathing exercises, meditation, yoga, and nutrition. The center, with its unique and healing environment, is used for spiritual contemplation and wellness by students of Mentalphysics and other retreat groups.

The JTRC’s 150+ acre campus houses an important collection of organic architecture designed by Lloyd Wright (Frank Lloyd Wright, Jr).

The Retreat Center is not a traditional resort. Full of architectural gems, it is a homespun campus where people from all over the world search for enlightenment. Relax by the Pool

The Retreat Center has a large cold and hot pool. Please be aware there is limited shade and seating by the pool and that Homestead Modern has not renovated this portion of the Retreat Center. Pool hours are from 8AM-8PM and there is a bathroom and outdoor shower adjacent. The hot pool is maintained at a temperature of 100-104 degrees. No music or shouting is allowed in the pool area. Swimsuits must be worn at all times.
